TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (September 14, 2017) – The Salt Lake Community College Bruin women's soccer program is beginning to round into shape, with the Bruins having successfully passed their opening exam of SWAC play.
Â
SLCC earned dominant results against Colorado Northwestern to open SWAC play last weekend, sweeping the Spartans with a goal differential of 37-0. The Bruins are 4-1 on the season, with a record of 2-0 in league play. Also, SLCC earned a conference honor last week with
Sydney Hathaway earning SWAC Player of the Week honors.
Â
With all of that in mind, the Bruins are excited and eager as they prepare for their first league road trip of the season, Bruins coach
Mark Davis said.
Â
This week the Bruins head out on the road for just the second time this season, traveling to face in-state rival USU-Eastern. The Golden Eagles are off to a 3-1-1 start on the season and are 1-0-1 in SWAC play, after defeating College of Southern Nevada 3-2 and also earning a 1-1 split with the Coyotes in Vegas last weekend.
Â
Davis noted that the weekend's conference road trip will be a good test for his young and developing squad.
Â
The Bruins and Golden Eagles will play two matches in Price this weekend, with Friday's women's match scheduled for a 3:00 p.m. start time. Saturday's match will be played at 1:00 p.m.
