Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (August 29, 2017) – The first home matches of the season for Salt Lake Community College's soccer programs turned out to be banner events for the Bruins, with the men's and women's programs sweeping Western Wyoming Community College in commanding fashion.

The Bruin men's program earned a 5-0 win over the Western Wyoming Mustangs, while the Bruin women's program earned a dominant 6-0 win. Both matches were contested at the Taylorsville Campus.

SLCC 5, WWCC 0 – Salt Lake held Western Wyoming to no shots on goal, as the Bruins went on to a dominant victory over the Mustangs.

The Bruins'
Jonah Moreno got things going early for Salt Lake, scoring a goal in the ninth minute of action on a shot from the right side of the box. SLCC held an 12-0 advantage in shots-on-goal, going on to a 27-8 advantage in overall shots.

Raul Sanchez led the Bruins on offense, finishing with two goals on three shots. Freshman
Aaron Martinez also scored a goal.

SLCC is now 1-1 on the season, as the Bruins prepare for a two-match weekend on the plains of Wyoming. Salt Lake will play matches against Laramie County Community College on Friday and Iowa Western Community College Saturday.

SLCC 6, WWCC 0 – The Bruins earned a controlling win over the Mustangs, holding an 11-3 edge in shots on goal.

Salt Lake had 20 shots overall, compared to Western Wyoming's 6 shots in the match. The Bruins' offensive efficiency extended itself in other ways, as the Bruins scored six goals on three assists.

Zoe Moses, who finished with two goals on four shots in the match. Bruins goalkeeper Mckenna Eaves had two saves on five shots faced.
