Bruin Men's Soccer looking for momentum in regular-season finale

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 17, 2017) – With one match left in the season, the Salt Lake Community College Bruin men's soccer team is trying to end the regular season on a high-note.

Coming of a four-match winning streak, the Bruins sit at 7-4 in Scenic West league play and are attempting to push forward with a match win over Southern Nevada Thursday to get a five-match winning streak to end the season. The Bruins picked up wins over in-state rivals USU Eastern and Snow College last weekend, along with picking up a win over Colorado Northwestern.

During that recent four-match win streak, the Bruins have posted a 12-1 goal differential, dominating opponents offensively. Salt Lake's recent streak followed a run of the Bruins going 1-4, which ironically ended with a 4-1 loss at Southern Nevada on Sept. 29. Now Salt Lake will attempt to earn a win against the SWAC-leading Coyotes to end the season.

Bruins coach Mark Davis said Thursday's match against Southern Nevada will allow the Bruins to go out on a high note.

"We need to finish strong going into the region tournament," he said. "We would love to make it five-in-a-row to give us a chance to win the SWAC regular season tournament."

The Bruins and Coyotes are scheduled to start their match Thursday at 1:00 p.m. Live stats will be available at slccbruins.com, along with a recap after the match.

The postseason will begin following Thursday's match, with the Region 18 tournament taking place the following weekend.
