Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 13, 2017) – The Salt Lake Community College Bruin men's soccer program returned home Friday with gusto, powering to a close win over an in-state rival.
 
The Bruins defeated in-state Scenic West rival USU-Eastern 2-1 Friday, avenging a pair of losses to the Golden Eagles earlier this season. A pair of early goals helped Salt Lake power to the victory, as the match was offensively controlled by SLCC.
 
Salt Lake got on the board in the 26^th minute, as Raul Sanchez scored a goal off a Bryson Colemere assist. Moments later, Colemere scored a goal of his own to give the Bruins a 2-0 lead in the 34^th minute. USU-Eastern would come back to get a goal later in the match but Salt Lake was able to save two shots-on-goal to preserve the win.
 
The Bruins held a mighty advantage in offense, picking up a 14-2 advantage in shots.
 
SLCC now sit at 6-4-1 in SWAC play, already at 2-0 in the week. The Bruins have one more league test – a Saturday road match at Snow College. The match will begin at 11:00 a.m.
