Bruin men prepare for final stretch of SWAC play

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (October 10, 2017) – The Salt Lake Community College Bruin Men's Soccer program is on the cusp of taking off for the final stretch of the Scenic West season.

The Bruins will play a series of matches this upcoming weekend, with a Wednesday match against Colorado Northwestern and a Friday match at home against USU-Eastern. The Bruins will play Snow College on Saturday. College of Southern Nevada currently leads the SWAC at 6-1-1, with the Bruins sitting at 4-4 in league play. The Bruins sit at 7-4-1 on the season.

Salt Lake had a strong campaign to open the season in their matches against Colorado Northwestern, earning a 16-1 margin against the Spartans. While the Bruins had a strong start against the Spartans, USU-Eastern will be a tougher task. The Golden Eagles earned 5-2 and 1-0 victories over the Bruins in road matches in Price.

"This is a massive week for us in the SWAC," said Davis. "Both teams have an opportunity to take control of the SWAC regular-season championships if we take care of our business."

After this weekend's action, the Bruins close the season with matches at Snow College and at home against College of Southern Nevada. The Region 18 tourney begins on Oct. 27.
