Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah- The No. 7 Bruins defeated Colorado Northwestern 3-0 (25-15, 25-20, 25-18) Friday night and improved their record to 21-7 overall and 7-2 in their conference. The win keeps Salt Lake's conference champion dreams alive if they win tomorrow against USU-Eastern and CSI loses to CNCC.

SLCC struggled to break open a big lead early in the first set. After
Aubrie Steiner's three kills in a row gave the Bruins a 6-4 lead, the Spartans still lingered until midway through the set. Salt Lake rallied though, shot ahead and took the set.

In the second set that was just as tight as the first, the Bruins had to play mistake free in order to try and gain an edge.
To'a Faleao and
Tiffany Robbins had some critical back to back blocks to put the Salt Lake up 18-17.
Jade Timothy added on offense with a kill that shook the building, keeping the Spartans at bay 20-19. Â
Alyssa Walker added some extra breathing room with her dump off kill giving SLCC a 23-20 lead, after
Thamyres Fuchs had an incredible point saving pancake dig that kept the ball alive. Salt Lake used that as momentum and finished out the set after a Faleao and Brady block, winning 25-20.

Through the third set the lead changed and tied up between the two teams consistently until late in the set when Salt Lake capitalized on stellar offense from
Andrea Brady. The Bruins also had help from bench with solid play by
Tiffany Robbins and
Lia Finau, inevitably sealing the match on a
Jade Timothy kill 25-20.

Jade Timothy lead the Bruin attack with 12 kills hitting .500 while adding two aces to her post game resume.
Andrea Brady helped the Bruins with her nine kills on .444 hitting while leading the team in blocks with eight.
Thamyres Fuchs lead the team with 18 digs and
Meilee Brown had 16 digs to herself as well.
Alyssa Walker distributed the ball effectively with 33 assists.

Salt Lake goes on the road to face USU-Eastern Saturday October 29
th at 1:00 p.m. in Price, Utah. The match will be the Bruins last regular season game and will have major conference tournament seeding implications on the result.
