TAYLORSVILLE, Utah - Salt Lake continued their win streak after defeating Southern Nevada 3-0 (25-21, 25-13, 25-21). The Bruins improve to 17-7 and 4-2 in the SWAC after the win and head into Saturday's game against Snow on a three game win streak.
After a rough early start, Salt Lake pulled ahead and took the first set. With a second set that was all Salt Lake, it looked like the Bruins were going to coast through the third set if they could maintain their momentum. Some mental errors and rough patches had Salt Lake down midway through the third set and after a strategic timeout by Coach
Sue Dulaney, the Bruins pulled it together. Salt Lake rallied to take the lead and win the set, sealing the victory.
Jade Timothy lead Salt Lake with 12 kills
Andrea Brady had 10 kills on .421 hitting and
To'a Faleao had another 10 kills for the Bruins. Timothy, Brady, and Faleao all tied for team in blocks with three. Also on the defensive side of the net, Thaymres Fuchs lead Salt Lake with 18 digs.
Meilee Brown had 11 digs and
Ellie Cottam had 10 digs.
Alyssa Walker distributed 35 assists in the match and SLCC was serving the ball well with
Olivia Osborn having an astonishing four aces, and
Thayna Fuchs had two of her own.
Salt Lake looks to even up the series when they take on Snow College Saturday October 15th in Taylorsville, Utah at 1:00 p.m.
