SLCC Volleyball sweeps slate of weekend matches at SLCC Invitational
Bruins stretch win streak to four matches behind solid play from Grasso and Koelliker

Salt Lake City, UT—The No. 6-ranked SLCC Volleyball team (5-3) stretched its win streak to four matches with a pair of victories on Saturday at the SLCC Invitational.
The Bruins won Saturday's first match over Eastern Arizona College (EAZ) 3-1 by scores of 25-19, 25-17, 17-25 and 25-19, and swept No. 19 Casper College 3-0 by scores of 25-19, 25-16 and 25-17.
SLCC vs. EAZ: SLCC sophomore middle hitter Janessa Koelliker (Kaysville, UT) had 12 kills and hit for a .550 percentage. Freshman setter Ailin Donati (Rome, Italy) turned in 45 assists and the duo of sophomore defensive specialist Indigo Allen (North Salt Lake, UT) and freshman outside hitter Carol Grasso (Sao Paulo, Brazil) combined for 38 digs in the winning effort.
SLCC vs. Casper: Grasso contributed 16 digs and a pair of service aces and Donati added five kills from the setter position. Sophomore middle hitter Jillian Campell (Murray, UT) hit .750 for the contest and fellow freshman middle hitter Sequoia Lofton (Spokane, WA) hit for a .666 percentage in the win. Koelliker turned in an attacking percentage of .466 and Allen had two aces.
Next up for Head Coach Sue Dulaney and the Bruins is a road trip to Twin Falls, ID on Sept. 6-7 for the Buffalo Wild Wings/Hilex Poly Invitational, hosted by the College of Southern Idaho. SLCC will open the tournament on Sept. 6 with a 1 p.m. matchup vs. No. 13 Blinn College and will face Laramie County Community College later that day at 5 p.m.
