PRICE, UT—The No. 7-ranked SLCC Volleyball team (22-6, 10-0 SWAC) completed a perfect 10-0 season in Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) play with a road victory over in-state opponent USU-Eastern (USU-E) (6-19, 2-8 SWAC) on Saturday.

The Bruins swept the Golden Eagles 3-0 by scores of 25-12, 25-14 and 29-27 and the victory marks the fifth consecutive win for SLCC. The unbeaten SWAC season for SLCC is the first for the program since 2007.

As outright SWAC champions, SLCC will host the upcoming Region 18 Volleyball Championships (Nov. 8-9) as the No. 1 overall seed. The tournament will take place at Bruin Arena on the SLCC Taylorsville Redwood Campus and follows a single-elimination format. The seeding for the Region 18 Championships are listed below:

The two teams that advance and meet in the Region 18 Championship Game will earn automatic bids to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) National Tournament (Nov. 21-22) in Casper, WY.

Stats vs. USU-E: Bruin sophomore outside hitter Bailee Kendall turned in 15 kills and the North Sanpete High School graduate hit for a .458 attacking percentage. Sophomore middle hitter Jillian Campbell (Murray, UT) had 12 kills and hit .500 for the contest and sophomore setter Baylie Henrie (Kaysville, UT) finished with 39 assists. Freshman outside hitter Carol Grasso (Sao Paulo, Brazil) added 13 kills in the winning effort.

Head Coach Sue Dulaney and the Bruins will have a first round bye in Region 18 Tournament action and will face the winner of the No. 4 seed Snow College vs. No. 5 seed USU-Eastern contest in round two of the tournament on Nov. 8 at Bruin Arena. SLCC needs just one tournament win to earn a trip to NJCAA Nationals.
