SALT LAKE CITY, UT—The
No. 6-ranked SLCC Volleyball team (16-5, 4-0 SWAC) won its fourth straight match by defeating Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent USU-Eastern (USU-E) (5-14, 1-3 SWAC) on Friday night at Bruin Arena.
The Bruins topped the Golden Eagles
3-0 by scores of 27-25, 25-12 and 25-14 in the first true home match of the year for SLCC. SLCC remains the only team without a loss in SWAC play and is currently in sole possession of first place.
Stats vs. USU-E: SLCC freshman outside hitter
Carol Grasso (Sao Paulo, Brazil) led all players with 15 kills and hit for a .385 attacking percentage in the contest. Sophomore outside hitter
Bailee Kendall (Mt. Pleasant, UT) added 12 kills and sophomore setter
Baylie Henrie (Kaysville, UT) had 40 assists for the Bruins in the winning effort.
SLCC held USU-Eastern to just 13 total kills on 95 attempts and a negative hitting percentage of -.042 for the contest. The Bruins had 56 total digs to USU-Eastern's 32.
