Salt Lake City, UT—The No. 5-ranked Salt Lake Community College Volleyball team (22-6, 7-3 SWAC) fell to in-state rival Snow College (15-8, 5-4 SWAC) in heartbreaking fashion at home on Saturday. The Badgers defeated the Bruins in five sets, 25-20, 26-24, 16-25, 15-25 and 16-14 on Sophomore Day for SLCC. The win gives the Badgers a 1-1 season series split with the Bruins.

Freshman outside hitter Anyssa Matheson (Worley, ID) had a season-high nine kills, and freshman setter-turned-outside hitter Camry Godfrey had 26 assists in the final regular season match for SLCC.

Next up for Head Coach Sue Dulaney and the Bruins is a trip to Twin Falls, ID for the Region 18 Volleyball Championships Nov. 2-3 at the College of Southern Idaho (CSI). No. 3-ranked CSI (27-1, 10-0 SWAC) earned hosting rights for the tournament by going undefeated in conference play and claiming the No. 1 seed.

SLCC will play its first match of the tournament on Friday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m., and will take on the winner of the No. 8 North Idaho College (NIC) (19-4, 5-4 SWAC) vs. Colorado Northwestern CC (CNCC) (0-22, 0-9 SWAC) match.

With a win in next Friday's match, the Bruins can advance to the Region 18 Championship Game, and in doing so would earn a trip to the NJCAA National Tournament.
