Price, UT—The
No. 5-ranked SLCC Women's Volleyball team (21-5, 6-2 SWAC) defeated Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) foe USU-Eastern three sets to none on Friday. The Bruins took down the in-state rival by scores of 25-18, 25-16, and 25-23.
SLCC sophomore outside hitter
Maddie Bushman (Tucson, AZ) had a team-high 12 kills on the night, and freshman outside hitter
Anyssa Matheson (Worley, ID) turned in five kills in the 3-0 Bruin victory. SLCC trailed in the third set 18-14, and with all six positions on the floor held by freshmen, the team rallied to claim the 25-23 match-winning set.
Next up for the Bruins is a road contest at Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) (0-19, 0-9 SWAC) on Saturday, Oct. 20 at 1 p.m. in Rangeley, CO. The Bruins defeated CNCC in straight sets on Sept. 28 at Bruin Arena.
