SALT LAKE CITY- The 7th ranked SLCC Bruin Volleyball team rallied from two sets down to defeat North Idaho in five sets. Salt Lake tallied a season high 16 team blocks to North Idaho's nine. The Bruins are 14-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play.
Leyla Redondo lead SLCC with a season high 23 kills and 14 digs. Kellie Turner added 10 kills and 11 digs along with Whitney Ashton's 17 digs. Brittani Cole had a season high 8 block assists. North Idaho blocking combined with SLCC errors lead to the Bruins dropping the first two sets (22-25, 15-25). However in the third and fourth sets SLCC reduced the errors and forced NIC into the fifth set (25-17, 26-24). In the fifth SLCC would not be denied jumping out to an 8-4 lead eventually winning 15-10.
The 7th ranked Bruins (14-4, 1-0) return to the court tomorrow to face rival #5 Southern Idaho at 3:00 pm in Bruin Arena.
