TWIN FALLS, ID- The 7^th ranked SLCC Volleyball team defeated Eastern Utah and Casper College today to open the 2011 season.  Layla Redondo led Salt Lake with nine aces and 11 kills over the two matches. 

Salt Lake defeated Eastern Utah in four sets winning 25-16, 15-25, 25-18 and 25-9.  Kellie Turner and Redondo each had four aces; Whitney Aston led defensively with 16 digs.  Turner finished with nine kills followed by Maddie Bushman with seven kills.

The Bruins handled Casper College in three sets 25-20, 25-20 and 25-21.  Bushman added to her kill total with eight while Courtney Godfrey had 23 set assists.  Kelsi Meyer collected 13 digs.

Salt Lake (2-0) will battle Northwestern College and Snow College tomorrow at the Buffalo Wild Wings Tournament in Twin Falls, Idaho.
