The SLCC Volleyball team finished the pre-season on a high note winning the Starr Corp Tournament going 4-0 over the weekend. SLCC is now 18-1 overall as they set there sights on SWAC play starting on September 24th at Bruin Arena.

The Bruins opened the tournament up against Navarro College winning in three sets. Ame White led the way with 12 kills, five aces and 11 digs. Kemi McFarland finished with 20 sets and Anna Burgess had 15 digs. Shelbi Zaldain had 20 kills in the win over Frank Phillips College. The Bruins took care of business in four sets. Erika Charry had nine kills and two solo blocks. White hit double digits again in kills (14) and digs (12). Catalina Charry controlled the offense with 44 set assists. In the first match up of the season against College of Southern Idaho- Salt Lake dropped the first two sets but battled back to win in five. White was a force finishing with a season high 22 kills and 17 digs. Erika Charry and Melissa Rider each finished with 7 block assists, Zaldain added 16 kills and Cata Charry had 53 sets. To top off the weekend Salt Lake took on Snow College-defeating the Badgers in four sets. Zaldain had 16 kills and 11 digs, Catalina Charry finished with 31 sets and Anna Burgess had 21 digs.

The Bruins are in action again on September 24th when they take on College of Eastern Utah at 7 pm in Bruin Arena
