TAYLORSVILLE, Utah- NJCAA D1 polls were release on Wednesday morning, and the Bruins of Salt Lake Community College rested at the top, in the Number 1 position.
This is only the second time in the team's history they have been ranked number one, the last coming their 2012 season.
"We have worked very hard all year and these girls deserve the recognition," head coach
Cyndee Bennett said. Â "It is very flattering to have the number 1 ranking this week. I told the girls to enjoy it today and tomorrow we get right back to work. As nice as the ranking is, in reality it is just a number on a piece of paper. We need to go and prove it on the field every single day. It also puts a very large target on our backs. We are very focused on our goals ahead and while the ranking validates our hard work, being ranked is not our ultimate goal."Â
